Excess Sweating
Sweating is a normal process and helps us to cool down when we’re too hot. However, sometimes the body produces more sweat than it needs to - this is called hyperhidrosis. Dr Shahd offers treatment with Botox® to help reduce excessive sweating.

FAQs
How does treatment work?
Anti-wrinkle injections contain something called Botulinum Toxin Type A, which is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. The product blocks transmission of the chemical messages sent from the nerves to the muscles putting the muscles into a relaxed state. This limits the number of creases that form on your skin over time.
What can I do?
Aside from seeking treatment as indicated above, the best advice for limiting excess sweat is:
Use a strong anti perspirant instead of deodorant
Wear loose fitting clothes
Wear armpit shields or sweat shields to protect your clothing
Avoid alcohol, spicy food or any activity likely to make your sweating worse
What can I expect?
Following a prescribed Botox® injection into the sweat glands, you can expect a significant reduction in sweating for a period of between 6 and 12 months, after which you may choose to have further treatment.
Does it hurt?
Using a very fine needle and gentle technique the procedure is almost painless and doesn't require any anaesthetic.
